How long have you been natural?
I have been natural for three years.
What made you go natural? (If you've been natural your whole life, what made you stay that way?)
I decided to go natural because I realized one day that I had never seen what my natural hair looked like.
What's your favorite natural hairstyle?
My favorite natural hair style is an afro.
What's the most annoying/hardest thing about your hair?
The most annoying/hardest thing about my hair is that the ends of my hair form knots very often.
What's the most annoying comment you've gotten about your hair?
The most annoying comment that I've gotten about my hair is that it looks like I cut it.
Why do you think some women are afraid to "go natural?"
I think some women are afraid to go natural because of societal pressures and insecurities based on how beauty is defined throughout the media.
Do you buy your hair products or make your own? What are some of your favorites?
I buy my hair products. I love to use Jamaican Mango & Lime products.
Have you ever thought about "giving in" and perming your hair?
I've never thought about going back to perms. But there have been several times where I was so frustrated with my hair that I thought about cutting it all off.
Is natural hair a trend or lifestyle?
To me, natural hair is a lifestyle. It means so much more than just wearing your hair a certain way. It means embracing all that is you, the way that nature intended for you to be: Natural.
If you could tell the world one thing about natural hair, what would it be?
If I could tell the world one thing about natural hair it would be that accepting your natural hair is a way to empower yourself without adding anything additional to do it.
